We provide a variety of client representative services to the FCO, on both the UK estate including the Grade I listed King Charles Street building in Whitehall and overseas diplomatic facilities including Damascus, Ottawa, southern Africa and the Far East.
Typically our role is to strengthen the work of the internal project sponsors. These are people who direct the investment of capital funds, so we may find ourselves assisting with project stages from initial business feasibility all the way through to coordinating user requirements, leading external professional teams and post-project feedback.
A particular expertise is the selection of architects and other consultants for the FCO, where we have arranged both limited and open design competitions for some of the more complex or high visibility sites. We also provide post-project review and evaluation services, to provide feedback and analysis of project success direct to the FCO Investment Board.
In response to an urgent need to create a command centre to deal with emergency global events following the Tsunami, we led a team to deliver a fast-track fit-out of 24hour/365 day working crisis centre at the heart of the main Foreign Office building in Whitehall. This provides state-of-the-art communication and meeting facilities to coordinate activity anywhere in the world. We are also advising the Foreign Office on strategic use of space throughout the UK estate.
